 | Underhung Cranes

Underhung Cranes can be a versatile answer to in-progress overhead handling, with several inherent advantages in certain applications. Although capacities are usually limited to 20 tons or less, with CMAA Service Classifications A (Standby) through C (Moderate), spans of 100 ft. are attainable. Further, because the hoist and trolley are suspended below the bridge girder, Underhung Cranes benefit from closer side approach and/or the ability to transfer loads between cranes or monorails in adjacent building bays. Being as underhung runways are suspended from the building structure, considerable cost savings can be realized through ease of installation and modification. J. V. Crane can provide either Standard ‘I-Beam’ or ‘Patented Track’ Underhung Crane solutions to satisfy your specific needs.
