History of J. V. :

Founded in 1978, by George “Ray” Johnston and Philip Victor, J & V Mechanical Services, Inc. primarily installed cranes, monorails and various other industrial materials handling equipment. Shortly thereafter, Wayne Sabin and Rick Paulsen joined the company as partners, heading up the engineering and field services departments respectively. The company continued to grow and flourish under this expanded structure, with a continued focus on materials handling equipment projects and services.

In January of 1996, the four partners decided to change the name of the company to J. V. Crane & Engineering, Inc., to more accurately reflect the core business activity.

Ray Johnston retired in the late ‘90s, with Phil Victor taking the reigns as President. In the following years, the company continued to diversify, targeting railroad maintenance equipment as a focal point.

Rick Paulsen retired in 2012, leaving Phil Victor and Wayne Sabin as the principles and sole owners.

J. V. Crane & Engineering continues today as a single source materials handling contractor; design, build install and test – from project inception to commissioned client turnover, a licensed and insured, privately owned engineering services and construction company.

We at J. V. look forward to hearing from you regarding your next materials handling project, no matter how large or small.
